Marie Khouri at Touch Wood

Vancouver- based sculptor Marie Khouri represents a broad multi-cultural and diverse demographic: her childhood roots in the Middle East, escape from the Lebanese Civil War in 1976 to Canada and early adult years in Paris where she discovered her passion for sculpture and received her fine arts training from L’Ecole et Les Ateliers du Louvre. Her art reflects her passion for innovation and spontaneity, unconstrained, pushing the barriers of a medium where the surfaces reveal the entire process and the finished sculpture reveals the evolutionary method by which it was created. Marie has won many serious commissions, her forms can be seen at the skytrain stations at 25th and Cambie and at False Creek and most recently she was awarded a prestigious Designer of the Year Award by Western Living Magazine.
