The Duthie Gallery represents art for the landscape such as Michael Dennis’ monumental figures, Brent Comber’s site specific installations, Peter Pierobon’s Illuminati and sculptures and Ron Crawford’s singular stonework. Landscape art encompasses the old world of statuary, follies and monuments and the new domain of earthworks, installations, land art and environmental art. Often large scale, at its best it enhances nature and is itself enhanced by its specific site; it heightens our experience of the natural, park or urban surround and draws our attention to the dynamic complexity of art/ human culture and nature.
