ABOUT THE ARTIST
Richard Tetrault’s paintings, prints and murals explore life within the contemporary urban landscape. Based in Vancouver, he has exhibited extensively both locally and internationally. Tetrault’s woodcuts, linocuts, monotypes and acrylics are multifaceted investigations examining the artist’s place in the context of community, the street and the industrial environment.
Tetrault is also well known as the creator of numerous large-scale public murals. These dynamic pieces reflect the influences of the Mexican muralists, including Diego Rivera, Jose Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros. His mural collaborations make manifest community expressions of the shared struggle for dignity and identity.
Richard has given several popular woodblock workshops on Salt Spring Island and also offers workshops at Malaspina Print Co-Op on Granville island in Vancouver
