Alastair Heseltine

Alastair is a sculptor working with willow, wicker, steel, wattle, felt − evolving from a master basket maker to a freeform artist whose pieces are powerful and sensual. His imagery is guided by the inherent nature of the material and by construction systems evolved through mindful observation and play. He draws from the full spectrum of routines and activities that support his life in design, craft production, farming and rural life on Hornby Island.
